  Surprisedly I went to courthouse at 3pm and it was almost empty. The security guards were nice and also was the clerk in room 118. I was out within 15 minutes. It was a great experience.

  THIS PLACE IS AWFUL!! I called today to try and get the jury department office, and every time I hit option 9 or whatever it was, I’d get disconnected. So after the third attempt, I called the main line. Some woman picked up and I asked her for the jury department and what phone number it was. The conversation literally... no exaggeration went as such. Me: Hi, I need to connect to the jury department but I keep getting disconnected, can I please have a direct number? Lady: It’s 646-***-**** Me: Ok, I just have a quick que... *click* (She hung up on me) So I called right back Me: Mamm’ you just hung up on me. Lady: Who is this? Me: We literally just spoke 10 seconds ago. I wasn’t through, and you hung up on me. Lady: well I gave you the number didn’t I? Me: yes, but.. Lady: Then we good. [sic] Me: (bewildered at this point and defeated) But mamm’ I just have a couple Of questions.. and you work for me. My taxes pay your salary. Lady: Oh yeah, well my taxes pay for your salary! *click* Me: But I... ok.....

  I've had somewhat of a different experience at this court simply because of my reason for being there. I currently have an internship here through my high school. I eagerly wanted to learn about the criminal justice system and so I applied to be at criminal court. The first day was okay, a few of my peers from the school showed up and we sat in other courtroom because our assigned judge (Judge Clott) wasn't on the bench. We had a brief interaction with the sgt that is designated at his courtroom and we weren't pleased. He came off very nasty and ill-manered. Anyway, we proceeded to continue to go everyday from 9:30am-1pm. Judge Clott has never spoken to us (interns) or made any form of contact with us since we began the internship a month ago. I've had very bad interactions with the sgt in room 948 which is Judge Clott's rm, too. He's been such a miserable, discourteous person since we first met him. The judge completely ignores us and doesn't even acknowledge our presents! We've made several complaints to our internship advisor at our school about our distaste for them, and she's called, emailed, and made contact in person in an effort to get them to be more engaged with us. We are there to LEARN, ask questions, and get experience of the criminal justice system. We could've chosen many other internships, but we chose this one. The way we're treated is like we're strangers! The judge nor the bailiff has yet to make a welcoming proclamation. All I get is attitude from the sgt at his courtoom and complete disregard from Judge Clott. The Sgt went so far as to lock the door when I came to sign in, so that I couldn't. I am sick of this internship and I hope it's permanently pulled from this court because its unpleasant and useless. I can not wait until this cycle is over so I can switch immediately to a hopefully more enjoyable internship. Shame on Judge Clott and his disgusting bailiff!! I wish I knew his name but that's how disengaged we are; he's never even introduced himself to us!

  If youre looking for the times that's listed on here stating that they close at 5 p.m. Don't think about it. I got there at 4: 34 and the woman was outside the door turning people away telling me that they don't get paid for overtime so they don't see people past a certain time. I spent 6 of my last $8 in my pocket to get down there that day to fight a case that they have been going at me for $8, 000 and this lady turns me away.

  Security staff downstairs: A +: helpful, friendly, patient, hence the 3 stars. Staff anywhere upstairs, including mediators, especially: angry, worn out, browbeaten. My experience with mediators is that they will never advocate for the little guy, only for the big realtor and their fancy lawyers. In each instance, it seemed almost as if it had been decided beforehand between them. Of course, that would be illegal and corrupt, so... yeah.
