First time on an aircraft carrier and it was a great experience! Called USS Intrepid, the aircraft carrier is huge and requires at least 3 hours to see at a comfortable pace (wear good walking shoes). The flight deck (the open-air top) has some neat aircraft on display, plus the Enterprise Space Shuttle as its main attraction. It also offers amazing views of Manhattan’s skyline and the Hudson River. The inside decks are for their exhibitions, events, and family activities. The exhibitions on the Intrepid and its crew during its heyday were very informative. And if that’s not enough, there’s also a submarine next to the Intrepid and a Concorde supersonic aircraft at the ground level. We didn’t have time for the submarine and a guided tour of the Concorde so we only took some photos before leaving. The on-site cafeteria is a bit pricey (as is the admission ticket). Definitely a good idea to bring your own food if you intend to be here for hours.

I went to Intrepid today with my three kids (5,6,9) and we absolutely loved it! We were there for 5 hours and kids never got bored. There was heaps to see and do for us all. The space shuttle was incredible to see as was the shear magnitude of the size of the aircraft carrier itself. I thoroughly recommend going here for all ages!!! The Concorde tour was pretty awesome too. Worth the money if you’re into planes in general :)

A nice museum to go visit with the kids for them to learn a little bit of history. The interior of the Intrepid is like going to the early days when it was at the sea. The bunk beds are visible and you are able to admire the effort it took to be in such tight spaces, the kitchen is huge and shows all the equipment they used as they had to prepare meals for hundreds of navy personnel. There is also a submarine and the airplane concord for people to see and sit right under it for lunch. On days that are holidays is pretty crowed so I recommend to go during the week or non holiday weekends to take advantage of your time. Also there is a store with all the collectibles adults and kids like.

My father and i had a great time here. I’m 33 and not a big museum goer, my dad is 70 and loves military and maritime history so... off we went. Arriving was easy and the line was no big deal at all. Just getting onto an aircraft carrier was cool and the inside is so accessible to kids but we loved it too. It was easy to get around and generally very enjoyable. There aren’t a lot of museum employees all over the place which is kind of nice. They’re there when you need them but you can really explore too. The Enterprise exhibit on the “roof” is way cooler than I expected! I left with EVEN more respect for our military and it’s veterans than I had before. Landing a fighter plane on this thing in the days before technology evolved to be what it is today is a heroic feat in and of itself. I wish I’d brought my veteran grandfather here. If you have kids, military enthusiasts or think planes are interesting, don’t miss this!

Had a great day out here with TONS to see. Theres a submarine that you can board and walk through, then there's the aircraft carrier which has loads of great fighter jets, and the space shuttle was great. I skipped a few bits and spent about an hour and a half there, so you could easily spend 3 hours if you're thorough. I was gutted to miss the Concorde because I was too late, but I saw the outside which was cool
